Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Value-Based Care Product Owner at Life Healthcare, Head Office, reporting to the Head of Product Development. The role will focus on developing and executing the end-to-end components for Value-Based Care clinical products. The requirements are to implement the product development toolkit, oversee / coordinate delivery of product concepts, and drive product results. The successful candidate must have the ability to manage and own work processes proactively, think critically, and display a passion for results. The successful candidate also must have experience or working knowledge in the application of Design Thinking principles to build products that serve the needs of the intended users – patients, clinicians and funders.

Product Strategy
·      Keep abreast of industry trends and propose new product ideas
·      Conduct market research for new products: market segments size and growth, customer preferences, competitor insights (local and international), current and future market trends, enabling technologies, funder landscape and benefit design, go to market strategies.
·      Support the product strategy development, target market segmentation, LHC product value proposition
 
Design Thinking
·      Apply the principles of Design Thinking in the product development process, working closely with the Service Design Specialist
Co-create fit for purpose products
·      Work closely with the Service Design Specialist, Clinical R&D Manager, Clinical Directorate and clinical / operational teams in the development of integrated, patient-focused clinical products.
Product Design & Development
·      Support Design Thinking Workshops, in particular the prioritization of design ideas merging the patient and business needs
·      Provide technical product input to the Service Design Specialist in journey design and rapid prototyping
·      Develop enablers / capability maps
·      Support in the scoping, planning and business case development of pilots
·      Coordinate and integrate design, clinical, technology, alternative reimbursement model and go-to-market workstreams to ensure cohesion and maximum impact
·      Articulate the required clinician partnerships according to the product category
·      Detail LHC points of care provision vs 3rd party in the continuum of care
·      Define system and process requirements for product implementation
·      Articulate and structure the product full potential business case and oversee the financial model
·      Provide input and oversight to the product marketing strategy
·      Address any legal, regulatory or risk implications of the product
Product prototype & pilot execution
·      Empathize with the patient and clinician need
·      Ensure execution teams fully understand the strategic intent
·      Track & manage progress vs deliverables & key milestones
·      Drive value and process tracking across financials, quality & patient satisfaction
·      Recommend adjustments / improvements to the approach to improve pilot results
Implementation of the Product Toolkit
·      Implement the Product Development Toolkit to streamline and maintain governance in the development process
·      Input into the definition of the product repeatable model and support creation of specific content, tools and artefacts
·      Partner with internal clients to develop, evaluate and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs
