             Compliance

  •  Reporting to the Group Compliance & Ethics Officer, assist in the compliance risk management process for division/s (and group as required) by drafting compliance risk management plans, identifying compliance obligations and communicating same to business.
  • Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations for division/s, in stores and in the call centre and advise management accordingly regarding non-compliance.
  • Excellent understanding of Insurance legislation, FAIS, FICA, CPA and POPIA.
  • Detailed knowledge of ICASA, RICA & Telco is an added advantage.
  • Assist in drafting, implementing and maintaining policies.
  • Compiling compliance reports for division/s as required.
  • Drafting compliance reports to regulatory bodies (FAIS, FICA, NCR).
  • Liaison with all regulatory bodies.
  • Liaising and collaborating with other departments (Insurance, Mobile and Cellular, Finance, Risk) on compliance matters.
  • Provide training or prepare material on regulatory changes when required.
  • Vetting Marketing Material and Insurance product script disclosures before published.
  • Conduct factual and legal research to ensure all legal and compliance business practices are aligned to related regulations.
  • Execution of projects assigned by the Group Compliance & Ethics Officer.
  • Engage in monthly meetings with external Compliance Officer.
  • Ad hoc projects.

    Technical support 

  • Advise on legislative changes and the impact on the business within the over-regulated environment of the Financial Services Industry.
  • Legal and technical query management.
  • Assessing and managing Legal Risk.
  • Advice on Insurance product creation and regulatory vetting.
  • Insurance product script disclosures.
  • Monitoring the Treating Customers Fairly program.
  • Drafting Terms and Conditions.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a compliance role.
  • Legal or accounting qualifications.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Good knowledge of the retail industry an added advantage
