QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE LEVELS REQUIRED:
At least 6 years previous experience in an accounting environment
Diploma or degree in Accounting/Finance preferable – In depth experience will be looked at first if the right person has experience and not a diploma or degree
Experience at a law firm an advantage
At least 2 years supervisory experience an advantage
Knowledge of attorney’s trust accounts an advantage
Knowledge of BEE reporting an advantage
Prepare reconciliations including, but not limited to bank, creditors, VAT and payroll
Submission of monthly VAT and EMP returns and bi-annual EMP501 submissions
Assistance with preparation of monthly payroll
Maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data
Preparation of monthly and annual BEE reports
Preparation of accurate and timely management reports.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
Assist in the preparation of audit files
Assist in managing the attorney’s trust account, when necessary
Ensure all accounting records are intact, readily accessible and safeguarded
Adhere to established accounting policies and procedures.
Competent in Pastel, Excel, and Outlook
Bookkeeping or Legal software package an advantage
Ability to work on various banking platforms
